What is Reiki?

Usui Reiki is a Japanese energy healing method developed in the early 1900s by Mikao Usui.

"Reiki" translates to "spiritually guided life force energy" (Rei meaning universal or spiritual wisdom, and Ki meaning life force energy).

It is a holistic, non-invasive practice designed to reduce stress, promote deep relaxation, and support the body's natural healing abilities on physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels.

How often do I need Reiki?

There is no rule for how often you should receive Reiki. For general stress relief, relaxation, or emotional balance, many people choose to visit their practitioner once a month or every few weeks.

If you are dealing with a specific emotional or physical transition, you might benefit from weekly or once every two week sessions for a short period, then tapering off into a maintenance routine.

How does remote Reiki work?

Reiki works on a spiritual or energetic level rather than a physical one, meaning universal life force energy flows to the recipient's highest good regardless of how far apart they are.

All you need to do is find a quiet space to relax and welcome the healing energy during the time of your scheduled session.

Why do I feel heat during my session?

Energy is flowing! In Reiki philosophy, warmth is a sign that life-force energy is actively moving and directing itself to areas of the body that need it. Tingling, twitching, or even coolness can be felt during a session.

Why do I have weird dreams after my session?

Reiki can help clear stagnant energy or stored trauma from stress or past experiences. As your body and mind process these freshly surfaced feelings, your subconscious works through them while you sleep. This is a good thing. Ride the wave!

What do I need to do after my session?

After a Reiki session, focus on gentle integration and self-care as your body and energy adjust. Drink lots of water, rest, practice grounding, and avoid substances and alcohol for the next 24 hours.
